How thick is the mattress and how hard is it?

Is this couch and bed comfortable? Purchasing furniture without trying it out in person is difficult...but I have tried out a similar concept and the couch/bed was extremely stiff. How would you explain the comfort of this sleeper sofa? Thanks

This is not stiff it's impossible to sit but it's obviously not as soft as regular couch since it's designed to be a sofa bed. We never had any complaints about these types of sofas being hard. Thanks.
